First is the already uncanny picture. It is uncanny because of the lighting as well as the fact that, without background information, it is difficult to tell what you are looking at. 

The second picture is the ‘canny’ to the uncanny. I put a face at the very bottom of the picture to make it look like you are being watched. They are very subtle which is what makes it so uncomfortable. You don’t know the eyes are there until you see finally see them…then they are hard to ‘unsee’. Also played with contrast a little bit.
